Jim Fitzpatrick has three children from a previous marriage. His daughter Suzanne is a graphic designer working in Dublin who spends a considerable amount of her time studying Eastern philosophy and mysticism and will soon qualify as a teacher of yoga. She is somewhat like a figure from one of Fitzpatricks drawings; a strong,intelligent and striking woman with something of the gypsy in her artistic and bohemian nature.

His eldest son Conánn is employed as a Special Effects animator, heading his own department in Stephen Spielbergs Dreamworks in Hollywood. He combines his fathers keen sense of artistry with an ambitious and pragmatic nature and is widely regarded as one of the industries most promising new talents.

The youngest in the family is Redmond, who has just finished secondary level education . He is a talented guitarist , a dedicated film buff with intentions of working in the movie industry and a self-confessed " World of Soccer' addict !.
